Menswear
My senior portfolio is a four-part collection tracing the evolution of a single character, Jake—a fine art student—across his college years. Each chapter reflects a shift in identity, perspective, and personal style, mirroring my own transition from womenswear into menswear.
Clarity introduces Jake as a freshman, grounded in a youthful, streetwear-driven aesthetic influenced by skate culture. The silhouettes are casual and expressive, capturing a sense of exploration and naivety.
Unborn Nature marks a period of uncertainty and introspection. His style becomes darker and more experimental, incorporating elements of techwear and industrial influences. Set against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, the collection reflects a fragmented identity and a search for direction.
Awakening signals a turning point. As Jake begins to understand himself more clearly, his wardrobe evolves—introducing brighter tones and a more confident visual language. This phase represents personal growth, creative clarity, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Revival concludes the narrative with a refined, elevated aesthetic. Moving beyond his earlier streetwear roots, Jake embraces a more considered, luxury-driven approach to fashion—demonstrating maturity, self-assurance, and a deeper understanding of his identity and future.
